Balgred was once the royal guard tasked with the defense of A'ven's father during his rule over the split Sarnak forces on Kunark. Rumored to be undefeated in any melee combat, Balgred is a terrifying presence and a destructive force upon the battlefield, sending blood and gore flying in all directions. During the attack upon the fort that led to the assassination of Aven's father, Balgred felt forever shamed, convinced it was his fault that A'ven's father was killed due to his failure as a bodyguard. Unable to effectively cope with the guilt that loomed over him, Balgred took a vow of silence, never again to speak or utter a single word. For how long his vow lasts, nobody is sure. Even as he now serves as A'ven's royal guard, Balgred still utters not a single word, replying only with the nod of his head when addressed. Despite reassurance from both A'ven and Sel'ranok that Balgred has nothing to feel ashamed for, the guard still refuses to speak, steadfast in his commitment of his vow. His lack of speaking nowadays doesn't make him any less deadlier of a foe though. In fact, after taking his vow and being reassigned to guard A'ven, Balgred is even more determined to not let another potential assassin slip by his gaze any longer. Once was more than enough.

Taking a short break from my Skaven characters for a tiny bit, but the story write up still continues!
