Excellent job. I normally dislike the use of stock photo backgrounds mixed with drawings. Most artist mess it up by not paying attention to the lighting of the background and how that effects the items being drawn. Usually the color is way off.

In your pic Tora looks as if she is really part of the scene. You got the coloring perfect. Did you pick the colors off the background image? The blure smudge effect was a very good idea and quite effective. Dai suki desu!

thanks well i pic one of the reds out of the background and made a layer of that color and put it over everything and droped the opacity :P. probably a better way to do it but i'm not that into coloring :P

Well the best way to do anything is the easiest method that accomplishes what is desired. You did that and did it well. I think the method you used was a very good idea and makes a lot of sence technicly. Why make things more complicated then they need to be :)

Man, that's beautiful...and not just cuz Tora's in it =3. I agree with Mooncaller, that lighting/hue job is fantastic and doesn't look forced at all. Her eyepatch looks even more distinct in the shadow than it would otherwise for some reason. But I like it!
