I dug back into Ten Ever-Lovin' Blue-Eyed Years With Pogo. Here's a panel from the famous first Disappearance of the Li'l Pup-Dog, in 1950. At the trial the Rackety-Coon Child remembers something that he thinks might be of relevance after everyone had concluded Albert must have eaten the Li'l Pup-Dog because everyone was saying he'd eaten the Li'l Pup-Dog. I don't know why Walt Kelly insisted the Rackety-Coon Chile should be eating a lollipop throughout all this. I think it was to make things harder for people copying the panel. A chair like this is hard enough, but a lollipop in the mouth is all sorts of complications.
