I loooooooooove beef bulgogi, but making it with flank steak is expensive and tedious (even if it is worth it)
So when I found a recipe that used ground beef instead, I had to try it! And I have to get rid of all this rice. The only thing I added was shredded lettuce, because rice and bulgogi go great with lettuce.

Thoughts: Absolutely DELICIOUS! After taking this photo I mixed it all up and every bite is heaven! The meat is nice and sweet, the lettuce and green onions add a satisfying crunch, and the rice brings it all together. This was really easy to make too so I'll definitely be making it again, yum yum!
Recipe is as follows:
Ingredients
1 pound lean ground beef (90% lean)
3 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup reduced-sodium soy sauce
2 teaspoons sesame oil
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2-2/3 cups hot cooked brown rice
3 green onions, thinly sliced
Directions
1. In a large skillet, cook beef and garlic over medium heat 6-8 minutes or until beef is no longer pink, breaking up beef into crumbles. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, mix brown sugar, soy sauce, oil and seasonings.
2. Stir sauce into beef; heat through. Serve with rice. Sprinkle with green onions.

Gave this recipe a try and it was DELICIOUS! The glaze actually penetrated deep into the meat instead of just sticking to the surface, giving it a wonderful flavor and even changing the texture just a bit. It was a little more spicy than I expected, putting off one of my family members with a sensitive stomach, but other than that a colossal hit! I just need to tone down the red pepper flakes next time. The fresh green onions gave it a nice, refreshing bite and the lettuce added a lovely crunch! All in all, will be making this again!
