Part of the Cascade Class of test bed and experimental frigates, Karman Line was originally intended to cross its namesake and reach space. It never did, and after the current crew added weaponry and additional armor plating, it never will. Relegated to atmospheric use or on bodies of water, though it is mostly used in the air or is stationary as a residence for the crew.

Armor is modest steel plates over some vitals and around the engine plus kevlar in key areas such as the reactor and reactor cooling.

Armament is aftermarket and consists of a pair of 8" rifles in an automated forward turret, a pair of 5" guns in an automated after turret, 2 dual mount 20mm autocannons, and 8 close in chain guns plus the occasional missile or rocket if the crew can scavenge of barter one.
