When 
TheLionessIvey contacted me wanting his character to be reading male for the first time--I was honored. I remember doing the same with Kim and how much confidence I gained, how much it meant to me to have something that represented me as I saw me. I get a lot of personal pride from this, and community pride in getting to help a transgender brother be seen. It's a tough journey to become our authentic selves, but it is so worth it.
