i wonder why after helping him with edits the last time you still find a way to badger him for something hes done as common practice for years and yet no one else finds something wrong with it.
the story is simple and the characters are simple too, he does this frequently and it ties together more to character traits and broadening the people involved

All I was saying is that you said something meaningless. He even agreed that his older stuff needs to be workshopped. And it does. I've been a watcher of his for years. His older comics need more attention. The reason no one says anything is because too many furries are more concerned with complacently safeguarding each other from criticism because they all view it as a personal attack, even when it isnt their body of work, like you.

kind of funny that i actually did work with him for a short while when we did a crossover. giving him some tips in showing more story to dive into characters and make shorter storylines. yes his older comics need more attention but he even says he revamped the series to a more linear move with tony finding a new place rather than living in the hobble he had originally, i even said this in my review of his work

What does any of that even mean? The comic is slice of life. It's multiple continual stories. And there hadn't been much change till I started collaborating with him.

Blake stopped being purely neurotic and has become more open through his relationship with Alex. Noticable but not 180.

And to hit the nail on the head, the owner of the comic acknowledged that he relied too much on that trait. A single trait doesn't make a character.

to be honest crossfur, i do see things more on the optimistic side of the sepctrum.
i dont complacently demoralize another's work because i need to voice every nitpick on the issue, i review things and interview artist to get the fandom seeing they are all human.
i have helped people wiht their writing, plot, and development over time and they become better on their own, not crediting myself to it or saying i was the root of it.
you however do just that every time someone speaks your there to try and undermine someone else's project they pour passion into

Dialogue vs atmosphere depends on the situation and isnt 1 size fits all. But in a relationship that is only just starting to head towards intimacy dialogue is necessary

intimacy? i dont think romance in this comic needs that kind of heightened sense of writing cause well, tony and candy, and even mikeys marriage are shown as standard and loving nonetheless

It's called optimism. You should try it really. And i'm afraid I know much more better the meaning of being neutral, as I have both commented and aid others too, without adding my staff into their work.

You tell me. How does each unique story, that has its own style, do that? How does each comic tell its story, and captivate its audience?
The answer, it takes all the above and put it together to create it.
And if the artist/creator/ writer is good, he knows how to put them in order, and how to build this world they made, and they are ready to share.
Ofcourse, this work, will not always be liked by all, as not everyone has the same opinions on the matter, as some like more "real" stories than "fantasy" ones, to point the simplest example. Still, they do it. That is how all art starts.

When was the last time you had made something original, a small story of your own. Something that you wrote alone. If you have anything like that, do share, i would like to see it. But if not...

Secondly, optimism my little friend, does do wonders, especially to kind and heart-warming comics, or series, like Tony comics are. You just have to realize that.
But in order to do that, you must first understand that for yourself...
As you must understand that every person does love this comic, no actually any comic for his own reasons. Either it's the story, the art, or all together, each and every one of us love the stories they read for their own reason.
But you keep failing to see this.
I wonder though if you are doing it by purpose too, though, since all that i have just said, is both common logic, but the same time, a MUST logic, any kind of reviewer must have. Without it, you can be truly neutral. You can only be just a random child that just likes to throw tantrums, because he did not get what he wished for...

You say optimism can helps heartwarming series but that doesn't mean anything. Nor is it common sense. You're avoiding saying anything direct. Additionally, I'm currently his editor. The dinner double date series of strips was equally loved. But unlike the generic praise people offer it, there were more standout moments.

When Iade Alex unsire of the date, I kept it less exaggerated level. Also,people actually resonated with that experience. Because social anxiety is real. I make characters believable before I try making them generically kind. Because then they can actually be characters.

Nothing you say is in any way helpful advice because you like most fans wanna sit comfortably and consume everything without a care. You guys just take in all the content and project your own feelings onto it. That isnt how you write characters.

My advice, try to keep that kind of zeal to people that might ever interview you (if there gonna be ever any) about the story and its OCs.
Plus, not all fans will dive so deeply into the story they read right away. The first thing all the notice is the simplest aspects of the story that are given. That is the beginning for any fan to start falling in love with each story, and after that, the development comes, little by little.
You said that you want to be better, and by that, like it or not, you meant you want more, but you can't have that. Like it or not, you need to want to DO better, because then it's when you will truly be better. With every passing page that is made, it will be better and better, even when you find negative people in life that will want to keep pushing you the wrong way, or keep finding only the bad things in your stories... And that is optimism.
