Description:
Kou was alone as her mate had gone hunting once more, and she was left on her own. And it wasnt a good place to be. She had climbed to the top of one of the rocky out-crops, she could see the expanse of the territory from where she stood, and the moon was shining down behind her.
She lifted her maw upward, and howled. Howled as hard as she could hoping that the spirits above could hear her. She often talked to the spirits within the stars, she'd learned it from her own experiences. The spirits could help guide, and at the moment she needed guidance.
There was so much in her mind, so much to think about, the world around her. She knew her mate would hear her howl, as he was keen with listening, and she hoped he did.
Was she upset? Was there anything wrong? No, Kou was in pretty good spirits. She just needed to release the howl from her lungs, and let it soar to the skies above.
'Let the spirits have it' she thought to herself as it felt as though the wind was dancing through her pelt, with the crescendo of the howl.
There was a beautiful, sense of being that overwhelmed her. She was alive.

Artist's Notes:
So this image came to me early this morning, I have been wanting to draw Kou howling for a while now. I know the background isnt the best, and Kou isnt that great. My hands are still shaky when I draw and now my pen for my tablet has broken the tip off :( - But I'm making it work and hopefully it will last until I get a better tablet, because now I'd like to get a bigger one, I often find myself falling off the edge of my small one. One day.
This took pretty much all day to do. In time? probably 4 hours or more. Just because I lined it and then went for a drive and had to come back to because my eyes where bugging out. So it took a bit longer, the background was an effort but I literally dont know how to make details at all which sucks because I would love to know how to do a very detailed picture. SOMEONE HALP. xD
I had fun drawing this. I loved the pose that I whipped out without any reference and just went with.
I the back is weird and the paws are weird, but I'm trying. I'm trying to learn and figure out where I go wrong, and I feel like I'm doing pretty good :)
I'm proud of this piece. <3
