Looks like Gushy go excited and forgot to judge the size of his new... friend.
Despite my attempts to not feel this way it seems I still have trouble drawing anything that's not a commission xD
Its hard not to feel like if I'm doing art I should be doing the things I've been paid to do despite the fact that I have plenty of sketches of other things lol
Maybe I can do a bit more or maybe this will be the only drawing of Gushy for another thousand years, I guess we'll see!
On a secondary note, I actually started to shade this but I kinda just really like how crisp he looks without it.

In truth art for yourself is very very important. It is good practice, it helps your mind rest and keeps your creativity sharp. Otherwise a lot of artists burn out!
Don't ever be ashamed to take care of yourself. Old caregiver's maxim: If you don't take care of yourself, you can't take care of anyone else.
And on top of all that the picture is awesome!

You're close, just a little harder! Once it starts sliding the rest will be easy.
When you're doing something for the passion of it rather than strictly for the money, especially something that requires creative energy, it's important to do personal projects intermittently to keep the spark going. The easiest way to get burned out is to look at it as solely a job, which can happen if you do only what you're paid to do rather than what you want to do. Not every type of reward is monetary, after all.
