A smilodon warrior rests for a moment near some rock art done by his tribe.
This has actually been floating around my head for a while, but the theme of this year's Anthrocon (which, if you haven't noticed, I am having WAY too much fun with) gave me a reason to put it to paper. I've been itching to try semirealism again, especially since my last one was so well received.
I love prehistory and especially art and artifacts from that era so this was so much fun to do. He will be in the Anthrocon 2010 art show.

Oh wow... you're amazing, Ravyn! When you really put effort into your artwork, it definitely shows! I love the fur shading and pattering, as well as the foliage peppered about... and the paintings on the rock really make the feel for this piece... excellent job, Sis! :o)
I loved all of your art that I saw in the AC book, and kept it for that reason alone! I was stunned when I turned to the back of the book and saw this! It was perfect for the prehistoric theme going on for Anthrocon 2010! You have a very unique style that captivates the imagination!
I am just so impressed with how detailed this work of art is, and its overall quality! It looks like a professional illustration that could be used in a book or novel or something! I am most impressed with the amount of realism in the drawing. It's anthro, yes, but a very believable anthro! The anatomy is perfect! I love the fairly neutral expression on his face with those long, sharp, saber teeth!
