I have the Xtra, looks the same as your. How would one go about adding a custom shut down screen like that or can I not do that with mine?

Well, for mines when it is connected to the computer I goto the program that I use to download music onto the player. For me to change the image, I goto the settings button (only appears when the player is attached to the computer). While there, there is a section called 'Startup Screen.' You'll goto that, and click the 'Change...' button. From there you just select the image you want to use. Mines can only allow for monochrome images with dimentions of exactly 132x64; no larger, no smaller. If it isn't the same, then I have no idea how you can change it. Hope it does work for you though ^^;

Hehe, cool, I found what you are talking about on mine and I found it, but mine is a start up screen and not a shut down screen. Thanks for helping me find this. ^_^

Mines says that it is a startup image as well, though it only appears when I turn the thing off. Yours is different than mines, so it probably does show upon startup. I wouldn't know since I can't really see (actually work, that is) yours from where I'm at ^^;

I copyed over some new music and my start up pic and it works but it also shows it when I shut it down.
