Beauregard Bugleboy, Frog, and Some Insects, 10 January 2...
Back on you-know-what. Beauregard Bugleboy giving one of his characteristic orations about the glory and heroism of his heroic glory, while a frog and some of those supernumerary bugs Walt Kelly liked look on. The original panel had Beauregard getting ready to leap in the water to rescue someone and that was just one figure too many for me. I'm feeling better about Beauregard's feet than usual in my drawings. Also in his hands.
Also I'm starting to see why Walt Kelly drew so many bugs in his strip. They're very efficient to do. Two, maybe three blobs and a couple lines and you've got the whole figure.
