Some more Ellis Chambers characters, again from Hi Ho Comics #1, this the story ``The Hep Cats''. You can see the original at https://comicbookplus.com/?dlid=23858 page 40 and part of what fascinates me about it is that I'm sure Chambers was not trying to make these characters look inflatable but he somehow nails it. Also for a rare change, I put in a background that required actual straight lines. I should look up how to do straight lines in ArtRage for the iPad. It's probably something chintzy like use a sheet of paper as a guide rule.

Yeah, Chambers is turning out to be a fascinating study. It appears he was incredibly prolific, in part from just tracing other people's work --- one of the stories in Hi Ho Comics #1 is literally stolen from another book --- and in part from getting really loose and fast in his art and in part from pulling all-nighters while stoned. Which defies certain stereotypes of people using maybe too much pot before getting to work but there you go.
Still wonder what he was figuring putting in extra lines and shine so everything looks like a rubber artist's work. It would be literally less work not to give everybody seams.
