As war rages across the globe the United Republic of Columbia is suddenly transported to another world. A world of magic, gods, darkness, elves, centaurs, and furs...
Been working on this on and off for a few months now. Got sick of trying to find that Furry ISOT fic I heard about on TV Tropes so I decided to write one myself.

You have my attention.
"Hail Columbia, happy land!
Hail, ye heroes, heav'n-born band"
Character description; especially for anthropomorphic races instead of just race dropping is something to work, but still all that fun goodstuff.
If you have not read them, the 1632 series by Eric Flint is up this alley, but no anthros.

Roger Zelazny uses a very simple method in his writing that's worth stealing: Mention three traits of a character's appearance when they first show up and the readers will instantly get a clear image of them... and it doesn't matter at all if that clear image is different for every reader. Just see how easy it is to envision, say: "The lanky homeless man with a motheaten brown jacket and tobacco-stained hands."
More like an Alternate Universe America. The country is named Columbia because the continent was named after Christopher Columbus who actually realized he discovered a new continent in this reality instead of thinking he was in Asia.
Granted there are going to be a few references here and there. I did drop a line that Joey Drew Studios (from Bendy and the Ink Machine) is an animation company that is a big rival of Disney.

Good start, I'm looking forward to seeing where this goes, especially with how much bigger you made this than the usual ISOT, what with transferring an entire country. I've never seen one that started off with a territory bigger than a city. The '1632' series is my favorite of the genre, and it's centered on a single small town that managed to be world-shaking. Your story throws in an entire new continent, which could be literally world-shaking, as it should alter ocean currents, weather patterns...
And I have to wonder if Engel will turn out to be just as hypocritical as his movement in the real world, who would declare that any politically expedient allies were Aryan. It's damned easy to picture him still raving about purity after getting allied with demon-worshiping animal people from another world. Guessing that the dark gods of the setting will quickly develop an interest in Engel's cause...
