"I will kill you as effortlessly as I have slain your ancestors. I will take your form and then murder your friends and loved ones! Oh how I relish the look of betrayal that's on their face before realization hits them in their final seconds..." -Zorphax, before he kills a Shado-Pan warrior.
Forgotten. Unearthed. Left behind. Not every paragon of old was reawakened during the initial Sha crisis on Pandaria many years ago. Zorphax was a terrifying Mantid assassin, able to take on the appearance of his victims and infiltrate deep behind Pandaren lines to assassinate targets of high value, leaving behind a grisly display to show he was here. With hundreds upon hundreds of different forms he was able to take, he was horrifying indeed during the ancient times. Neither the Klaxxi nor the Empress could find were Zorphax was located during the Sha crisis, and over time, his name was whispered less and less until...he was simply forgotten. Left beneath the earth in permanent stasis. It would take the arrival of Azerite to fix this, as when the first crystals sprouted up in Pandaria, the powerful energy from even a few shards was enough to shatter the bonds around Zorphax, and once again does he now stalk the world, having pledged his life and service to the current Empress and works fervently to gather any and all Azerite possible. With Zorphax free to sow terror and bloodshed once again, everyone always looks over their shoulder, for none know where the assassin can be, or what form he's in.
It is of no secret my favorite WoW expansion was Mists of Pandaria, and the Mantid were an awesome antagonist to go up against with interesting lore. During Battle for Azeroth, I was so very tempted to make my own Mantid OC, and I did! Was an absolute blast to play and RP as him when I did on WoW. Leave a fav and a watch if you like, and stay tuned!
