OKAMI~ :D
I'm a big fan of the late Clover Studio's works. Viewtiful Joe 2 is easily one of my favorite gamecube titles and while I never completed it Okami's art style is easily one of the most unique I've seen in ages (I had the Wii version and trying to do the old man's training with a wiimote is frustrating to say the least).
My mother also liked Okami, she used to collect Japanese ink paintings when she was younger.
I wish Capcom hadn't killed off Clover. Seriously, why on earth did they make that decision? Did they not make enough Megaman spinoffs yet? o_O

Well, if you like Okami you might want to give Viewtiful Joe a try since the same studio made them both. Its a side scrolling beat-em-up where you can also manipulate the camera to change your attacks. Run things in slow motion to do a ton more damage and reflect bullets back at enemies, use fast forward (mach speed) to make Joe's body burst into flames that set enemies on fire (but don't hurt him, don't ask why), or zoom in to do special moves (zoom while punching to do even more damage, zoom while falling to slam into the ground and cause a shockwave when you land, etc).
The story is pretty goofy too, but really enjoyable. Joe is a movie geek who's girlfriend winds up getting pulled into a super hero movie they're showing at a local cinema run by Joe's father. Joe winds up going in after her and gets superpowers of his own to rescue her with. It rarely takes itself seriously (Joe spends a few levels trying to come up with a superhero name for himself "And now you'll be defeated by... um... well I haven't figured it out yet, but I'm working on it evildoer!") and the enemies themselves are downright goofy (and often hilarious). If you like parodies you'll probably get a kick out of it, and both Viewtiful Joe and Vietwiful Joe 2 are gamecube titles so you can probably get them cheap.
... And Joe gets a giant robot! :D

this is an awesome, epic piece angela, i just love this picture
ive said your a great artist before, and i'll say it again, but this time, ill tell you why i think you are a great artist. its not just because you are talented, which you very much are, but also because you care.
not just about the recipient of the artwork, but also about the art itself, and about the people who view it...
and all your artwork convey that kind, caring feeling. from pictures like this, to even your naughtier pieces, there is always that, that aura of a kind gentle soul behind it, and i guess that's what makes you such a special artist
