Story concept I'm still playing around with.

A scientist by the name of Doctor Erl Quinton was not only fascinated mythology and the supernatural, he envied beings of power, and thrived to evolve humanity to be equal, if not greater than their current status. Dr. Erl studied various subjects and figuring out a formula that would help achieve his goal, Dr. Erl tested the formula on himself. It was a success, completely changing his physical appearance, and even giving him a variety of supernatural powers. Dr. Erl decided to share his success, mass producing his formula by utilizing technology he bought from a company called A.C.T. He built gas bombs out of the tech, and waited on a New Years Day to release the gas, dubbing the day as Project Ascension. Those that were exposed to the gas clouds were either physically changed and/or gained supernatural powers. Victims of the gas were universally referred to as the Konverts. Many Konverts have been mistreated and judged for their new appearances, while other are exploiting their newfound powers and abilities to take and achieve what they desire..
