Hey guys, it's that time again for another FARCE Review. This time we are going into habano territory. Was really excited for this one. It was my first day or 2 off and I had the cigar lounge to myself. Perfect timing for concentrating on my palate. Anyways, let's get to it!
FARCE Habano Toro:
Wrapper: Ecuadorian Habano
Binder: Indonesia
Filler: Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, Pennsylvania
Pre-Light/Construction:
From the looks of it, the same premise as the other FARCE sticks, the Sakura Flower theme. This time there was more of an aged look to it. `
Black, Gold, and Silver for the band itself. Bold, but precise in what it represents. For a habano, the color was nice and clean, with a little bit of shine from some oil. Firm and smooth to the touch. Veins and Seems were present, but more organized. The scent was full of pepper and wood notes. The pre-slice was just the riiiiiight draw as well. Let's light her up!
The Burn Part 1:
The first few puffs were very vibrant with a medium tone black pepper along with some hints of cedar. Very calm start to be honest. More of a natural tone in texture with some kick to be honest. Soon, some sweet notes came to ease a bit of tension which lead to a sweet and spicy combo, which I love. Sort of a light milk chocolate. I was alone at the club for a bit watching a movie. Made a call to my therapist at the time, so I was in more of a relaxed space to talk to him since the hurricane. Good to hear from him too.
The Burn Part 2:
At this point in the stick, the amount of pepper that started calm began to build up in strength. A little more of a small jab that had a harder impact in body. The cedar was more than likely staying in place from where it began. The Milk Chocolate notes weaved back and forth between each puff and retro hale, but made their presence still apparent. At this point me and my therapist had finished our call and planned on having an outside lunch one day. Mainly between medium and full body to end off this half.
The Burn Final:
The draw was still even burning at this point. So far, I was in a relaxed state of mind even though the amount of pepper notes kept pounding away. I gave it a purge to clear up some tension. The aftermath replenished the cedar notes to more of an aged taste. Something I like in a natural wood note. The milk chocolate note stayed in a medium level of tone. As the last few puffs came into play the main flavor that was heading towards the finish line was the pepper strong strong as ever even after the purge. With that being done, I put it in the ashtray grave with a satisfied smile.
Verdict:
Spicy and Sweet is mainly what I consider for this one if you have some bold balls, especially in the morning. Something for an everyday scenario when you are ready to take on the day. Definitely a recommended stick for the average cigar enthusiast.
