**Giggles!**
Back when we moved into "Unicorn Dune!" the beach mansion on 7th street with all the things that would help me get through high school: five bed rooms, a carport for Mom's MGB, the Purple People Eater!, a gameroom where I often did artwork or played Dungeons and Dragons! on Saturdays while watching Saturday morning cartoons or waiting for Doctor Who to come on Georgia Public TV, and a pretty good sized in-ground swimming pool! But one of my favorite things we had for a short time was a nice green swing with wisteria vines growing all over it. Considering the house had been vacant for a while, the swing was in good condition, but Pop, on a mission, decided that it would not be "unsafe" for long. He went down to the local hardware store and got all the materials to replace the swing, only to find out that all of the swing was going to come out. Rotted at the base, the wood deceptively being consumed by the wisteria vines, and Gawd only know what else happened out there. None of that slowed down Pop! He took out all of the rotting wood and hauled it off to the dump in the little pick-up truck and then came back and cleared out an area to plant the first pair of rose bushes and constructed the supports out of metal piping and other things welded to the support to add some artistic style to it. Even before he painted it green to match the surroundings, it was lovely. The swing was a two-seater, something that Mom always had at all of the homes they owned, though always a different swing ... "It chooses its surroundings!" I believe is what I heard Mom say once or twice when asked about this. And, within a year, the green painted supports were thoroughly covered in wisteria vine! It was lovely!
I always loved swings, thanks to Mom ... we had a dozen on the various porches, one underneath a tree out at the Bonifay house, the last place Mom called home before passing, and I'm pretty sure I had at least one tire swing of my own at the 7th street house that I ended up growing out of and yet my Big Sister's kids got to play on later in life.
When I saw this awesome YCH Commission by DA Artist MILMARI, I knew I had to get it. After chatting with the artist and making the payment, this is the result! Magnificent work! The detailing alone is tremendous! Thank you so very much, honey!
