So, this is a character of mine I've had for a while that  Snozzy was nice enough to draw for my bday. From the tabletop game Changeling: The Lost, he's a Changeling, humans that were taken by their Keeper, a powerful fae entity that uses them as servants, only for them to eventually escape back to the human world forever changed.

You could be a person who was stolen and used as a living match, fleeing back to the human world with fire for hair and skin made of wood, your eyes replaced with glowing embers that still perfectly perform the function and in fact may give you better eyesight than before. Maybe you were stolen because you were an amazing dancer, and your Keeper molded you into a soldier instead, spinning and whirling across the battlefield with blades like a formerly-human blender, slicing necks, legs, and torsos with an inhuman grace.

In Toski's case, he used to be a doctor and got nabbed because he made a deal with his Keeper. He was taught about the supernatural world in exchange for service as a kind of living teddybear, protecting her dreams and the dreams of her servants from her rivals and stealing snippets of prophetic dreams, which he used to flee when he found one that fortold his own escape. As for why he's so short, when the Keeper turned him into a squirrel he needed to be shrunk to a more cuddlable and cuter size, and so all the excess mass was used to form that monster of a tail that varies between as big as he is to 2-3x the size.

Every Changeling is covered by the Mask, an illusion that makes them look human and hides their nature even from machines. A blood test will return normal, even if you have machine-oil or sand for blood and can even be cloned from the DNA, though the clone will be 100% human instead of another Lost. Other Lost and humans in certain situations (those who made a faerie deal with him, small children, the drunk, drugged, or insane, people with brain damage in the right spots, or people with an honest belief in faeries and magic or supernatural senses like Mage Sight type things or a werewolf's boosted smell) can see through it.

Toski is an Oneirophysic, a 'dream doctor' that can perform surgery and other medical tasks through your dreams, ontop of general dream-manipulation and leaking small amounts of deam-stuff into reality, among other crazy fae abilities like pulling reflections out as physical objects or people, having a garden of faerie fruit with a very wide variety of magical effects, and so on.

He's part of the Spring Court, and so has a patron emotion of Desire. The stars on his fur change form and create constellations in the image of what the viewer desires most, even if they're subconscious desires they aren't aware of, and everyone sees something different, complete with different quality. One person might see stick-figures they just know are meant to represent certain people, while others might see highly-detailed 'sketches' made of stars and lines. His scent is similar. Everyone smells something different, always changing, but always something they'd personally find pleasant or desirable and it even updates in real-time, so even if you were a werewolf sniffing out his scent where he was an hour ago, the scent he left behind would alter to reflect his CURRENT smell!

This also includes the very artist drawing them! If they desire him not to have so many stars, then he won't, his features more squirrel-like? Yep, as long as major features are untouched like his blue fur, starlight eyes, constellation skeleton, and skunk stripes.

He's a bit of a chimera as well. Paws of a rabbit, tail of a skunk-squirrel, head of a squirrel with a slightly ferrety snout and a slightly elongated body like a ferret without being super-noodly.
