(Andrew and Drake)
The time that followed the last mission was a tense and happy one, to say the least. When it came to Andrew and Drake staying together the night following the previous stage and the day after, thankfully, this time, Andrew was able to just enjoy Drake's company. As for Drake, while he still didn't feel like he deserved to be in the same home as Andrew, he chose to let himself relax a tiny bit. While the game losing and face smooshing was still going on, Drake's attitude was slightly better. As for the wait for the play, it was maddening. For the next two days, Andrew could hardly concentrate on his schoolwork. He was so excited for the big day! Gwen ended up mirroring his excitement, and the only thing the energetic friends could speak of was the play! For Gasper, he was calm and level-headed about the whole thing. In fact, you could see a glimmer of... disappointment in his eyes as the fateful day grew closer. Finally, as for Drake, a pit of dread kept on growing in his chest. He hoped that when the scariest moment of the play came that Andrew would opt for a fake/air kiss to make things less awkward and MUCH easier for both of them. For Alter, while he didn't like the prospect of a fake kiss, he MORE than understood why Drake dreaded the moment so much. Eventually, though, the night of the play finally came.
(Andrew)
After that day, Andrew spent some time getting ready for the play, which would premiere at around 4:30 P.M. later. As Andrew got prepared for the premiere, his parents did the same. After everyone had gotten ready w/ showers and everything (Grey took a bit longer because he got home at 3:00 and because of his pregnancy), it was almost 4:00. Once 4:10 came, Andrew and Cedric teleported themselves and Grey over to the school. At the entrance, there were some other people of different species filtering into the building. After Andrew led his parents to the auditorium (Grey gazed at the school in wonder, much to Cedric's amusement), he waved a temporary goodbye to his parents. As he did so, Andrew rushed over to the door that led backstage. When Andrew was through, he saw that all the Theater kids were running around, setting up the stage, and putting on their costumes.
"Andrew, good! You're finally here!" the teacher said.
She then pulled out the first of Andrew's outfits before fluttering over to him.
"Quick, get over to a changing curtain, now!" The teacher said while practically shoving the yellow peasant dress and white apron into Andrew's stitched hands.
Andrew then rushed over to a changing curtain. Once he was done, Andrew looked around and spotted his friends in different spots. Gwen had a cardboard teapot around her torso while her face was being painted white. As for Gasper, he was in a hunter's outfit. At the moment, he was strapping on a quiver of arrows. Finally, there was Drake. He was in monster form, and he wore fancy attire w/ a flowing cape. When Andrew and Drake locked eyes, Andrew gave a close-eyed smile. Drake, in response, had a pained expression.
(Drake)
This will NOT end well... Drake couldn't help but think.
Alter sighed behind him.
Usually, I'd argue w/ you, but, honestly, I can't help but agree w/ you for once.
(Andrew)
Once Gasper and Gwen were finished getting ready, Andrew went over to them w/ a grin.
"I'm so excited for this!" Andrew said giddily, "Are you?"
Gasper sighed.
"As fucking excited as I can be, I guess."
Gwen gave a small, pasty-lipped smile.
"I'm just happy I get to perform w/ more friends this time."
Andrew beamed at that. After a bit, it was finally time for the premiere! As everyone went to their places, the teacher went to center stage. The curtains opened, and the audience gave a round of applause.
"Thank you for coming everybody to the premiere performance of The Beast's Beauty!" the teacher chittered excitedly into a mike, "As you all can tell, this is a retelling of Beauty and the Beast. As always, please be respectful while viewing the performance. We all worked really hard on this, and we would seriously appreciate your respectful attention. Now, w/o further adieu, on w/ the show!"
The teacher walked off w/ some more applause.
...
(Andrew and Drake)
For Andrew, the play was like nothing else (aside from being w/ Drake, of course)! For Drake, it was mostly just standard until near the end. The story was as follows. The main character, Olivia (played by Andrew), lives in a quiet village. She's a bookworm who feels disgruntled because she doesn't fit in w/ the other villagers. Her widowed father has to work hard as a delivery man to provide for both of them. He keeps telling Olivia that being different isn't so bad, much to her uncertainty. Another point of contention is the villain, Sebastion (played by Gasper). Sebastion (Gasper) wants to get Olivia's hand by any means necessary due to her outer prettiness, much to Olivia's disgust. One day, Olivia's father goes out on a dangerous path to his next delivery spot. On the way, he gets ambushed by hungry wolves! Fearing for his life, the frightened man rushed on his horse as fast as they could until they reached a castle. While the horse refused to go through the gates, Olivia's father boldly opened them up. At this, the horse bolted away, much to Olivia's father's anger. From then on, it was the standard Beauty and the Beast plot. If you know the Disney version of the story, this one played out similarly. The main differences were the lack of music and a sidekick for the villain. Andrew adored every second of it, ESPECIALLY the romantic scenes w/ Drake! As for Drake, he only kept going for the sake of not ruining SOMETHING for once. When it came to the romantic scenes, Drake felt a different of kind uncomfortable altogether. It wasn't that Andrew was doing it. It was the fact that ANYONE would willingly do them w/ Drake of all people so eagerly!
Please, let this end soon so that this guy can be free of this burdensome task! Drake thought.
In the audience, Grey watched the production in awe. Cedric simply smiled as he recorded the performance because Andrew was doing so well. Natas was also in the audience father back as well. To most, it looked like he was enjoying the play. Unfortunately, Drake and Alter knew better. Eventually, though, THAT scene came up. The Beast (played by Drake) had been stabbed by Sebastion (Gasper), who had immediately fallen to his death afterward. As Olivia (Andrew) mourned the loss of the Beast's (Drake) life, and the living objects (one was Gwen) looked crestfallen, the last petal from the Beast's (Drake) rose fell.
"Please, don't leave me!" Olivia (Andrew) cried out, "I love you!"
Suddenly, something began to happen. Under the Beast's (Drake) cape, Olivia (Andrew) noticed some shuffling! Then, the person (Drake) got up and... it was a big, black-haired human!
"Wh-who... are you?" Olivia (Andrew) asked.
The man (Drake) mustered as best of a smile as he could.
"...Isn't it obvious...?" Drake projected as loudly as he could muster.
Olivia (Andrew) gave a confused look as he studied the man's (Drake) face. Then his face lit up.
"It's you!"
At that moment, it was finally time for the kiss. At this, Drake leaned forward a bit and sent out a silent kiss. Andrew gave a look that said, "the actual frick?"
I DID NOT wait weeks on end to get a fricking breeze! Andrew thought angrily.
Andrew then quickly reached up and grabbed Drake's shoulders.
"...What are you-?" Drake began.
Suddenly, Andrew yanked Drake down a bit and... locked lips! The kiss was... amazing, scary, weird, and a bit gross. The inside of Drake's mouth felt pretty gummy w/ scarring here and there. Plus, Andrew could taste some blood in there. In absolute spite of all that, though, Andrew LOVED it. Drake's softness, warmth, and overall good feel overpowered the negatives! For Drake... he'd forgotten what terror was like years ago. Somehow, this made him feel that again! Drake's heart pumped fast, his eyes widened, and his body went limp. He couldn't even think his thoughts were gibberish! As for the audience, while some members looked on in disgust, most erupted in applause, Grey and Cedric among them. As for Natas, thankfully, no one noticed his expression. He opened his eyes for a few seconds before he quickly closed them... The end of the play went by like a blur for the twosome. After everyone had finished the bows, Drake immediately ran offstage. When Andrew followed behind, he noticed that Drake ran past the changing curtains! Andrew, worried, followed after him.
(Drake)
Drake ran and ran through the halls, unable to process his emotions. He also went back to his monster form.
WHY THE FUCK WOULD HE DO THAT?! WHY THE FUCK WOULD HE DO THAT?! WHY THE FUCK WOULD HE DO THAT?! Drake thought.
Alter couldn't even do anything other than blubber! After a while, he reached the rooftop. As Drake gripped the railing, he couldn't stop shaking as he looked fearfully downward, his face and SOUL feeling uncomfortable. After a bit, Drake sighed.
(It's Over, Isn't It: Drake Ver.)
(Song: It's Over, Isn't It Caleb Hyles Ver.)
I was fine... with the people
Who would come into my life now and again
I was fine, 'cause I knew
That they didn't really matter until you
I was fine when you came
And we fought like it was all some silly game
Over me, who you'd choose
After all this time, I never thought I'd lose
It's over, isn't it?
Isn't it?
Isn't it over?
It's over, isn't it?
Isn't it?
Isn't it over?
You won, and you chose me, and you love me. and you'll be gone
It's over, isn't it?
Why can't I accept this?
(His expression hardens a bit)
Suffering and torture, pain beyond words
Solitude, imprisonment, his attention
Out in daylight, my worth
Wasted, destroyed, nonexistent
Who am I now in this world without her?
Petty and dull with the nerve to doubt him
What does it matter? It's already done
And I've got to be there for him now
It's... over, isn't it?
Isn't it?
Isn't it over?
It's over, isn't it?
Isn't it?
Isn't it over?
You won, and you chose me, and you love me, and you'll be gone (his eyes start to well w/ tears)
It's over, isn't it?
Why can't I accept this? (he drops to his knees)
It's over, isn't it?
Why can't I accept this? (he buries his face in his hands as
he silently tries to fight back his tears).
Alter could only give Drake a ghost hug. After a few minutes, Drake got up slowly.
(Andrew)
Andrew finally reached the rooftop, still a little dazed after the kiss. When he opened the door, he found Drake w/ his back turned.
"Drake?" Andrew asked.
Drake, rather than answering, walked towards the door. Andrew grabbed his sleeve.
"Drake, wait," Andrew said quietly.
Drake simply pulled his arm away and kept going.
"Drake, wait!" Andrew said again.
Drake just kept going. Andrew looked after him worriedly.

The time that followed was a blur to Andrew. After getting back into his usual clothes, Andrew barely registered the praise his parents gave him, along w/ their affection. He noticed that when Gasper and Gwen were w/ their parent, a brown-haired man and a black-haired woman, they praised the heck out of Gwen, whereas Gasper was left to the side, much to Andrew's ire. As for Drake, he simply left w/ his dad, who gave him a strange, close-eyed look. After a bit, though, Andrew and Cedric twitched their tails and teleported themselves and Grey home.
