A piece I'm working on of my north american cave lioness persona named Sekhmet...The solar symbol appears on her forehead when she enters super nova and MESSES STUFF UP >:|
of course, her hair turns to flame here- tried to depict that with such a tight crop 9.9
I wanted her to have a cold expression. The "snarly face" would be kind of..expected.
I'm making this both for either a buisness card, and a little label to attatch to the back of my prints in art shows with my signature on it/info about the print.
This will be my first digital painting when its done. What you see is a marker base that
wolf-nymph recommended I do. It was initially grayscale, but I made it sepia because sepia is indeed awesome. This technique gets the base shading part done faster and adds interesting textures.
I'm actually qutie shy to post the final because I never did an actual digital rendering before. I'm several hours in, but still have a lot to go since I am rendering 1 hair at a time. Couldnt find any decent brushes..plus, what I found looked too mechanical. =/

Rendering one hair at a time is the way to go if you want realism, on my second to last submission i did this and it looked amazing.... then i got really lazy, but the initial part around the muzzle looked really really good.
If you want advice on it, Fourain is (or at least seems to be) a master of digital realism, with regards to anthro's at least, he has helped me out before.
