Done by David koo on DA (link to his art here: https://www.deviantart.com/davidkoo) let me introduce another of my d&d characters; Serina "Manta" Baraton; a swashbulker rogue & armourer artificer. Serina is a smuggler with her speciality being getting things to places they shouldn't be, whether that be illegal drugs to people to any sort of products that a client wants to keep on the down low and can't be caught with. Serina is fairly strict most of the time with the crew she used to run with as the lieutenant and right hand woman to her former captain (as yet unnamed) that she was on good terms with, but more in a respect of your superior sort of way. Outside of traveling the seas, she made time for the finer things in life and enjoyed reading all sorts of topics that peeked her interest. She was fairly tactical in a fight and prefers going in with a plan since she believes in battle, recklessness are for the foolhardy, barbarians or those with a death wish.
Over the years, she has picked up some tricks, mainly about disarming her opponents or taking advantage of a opponent's missed opportunity to ram her blade into their spines. All of that changed one day when suddenly, the crew mutinied and despite her captain's actions and her own attempts to calm them, it was of no use as they betrayed not only the captain's trust in them, but her own as they were eager to earn more money and keep the money from their smuggling to themselves rather then share. Taking slashes to her cheeks and a blade straight between her chest, she was kicked overboard into the violent, dark waters of the open sea, yet as you will see, fate had different plans for her...
