In 2003, I fell off the horse and went back to having an online "girlfriend". I say "girlfriend" in quotes because she turned out to be a guy, and not even a transgendered guy. We drifted apart and I can't even remember her name at this point. I wrote this for 'her'.
That said, in re-reading it, I thought it was a pretty darn good sonnet, and aside from the mention of the 'otter', could be used in a far more general sense than the one I wrote it under. I don't know, what do you guys think?

That's happened to you? Sorry to hear that...aside from once being mistaken for a girl by a drunk and horny lesbian, I've never fooled anyone into believing I was anything other than my assigned gender. :>
But the poem is great, especially the "unfinished ending". If you hadn't put it up in a public place, I'd say you should re-use it on some other deserving furry femme--but if she found out it was second hand, I'd be prepared for quite a bit of fallout. :D

I think it's pretty dang good. If poetry doesn't keep me in the first two or three lines, I'm usually gone. :)
The 'otter' could easily be changed out like you said, and I agree with both Hauke and PepperCoyote on the ending and that one particular line. Those parts stood out for me.
