Far to the south of Eteru Kalu, land of water barons, lie the Southern Wastes, a vast expanse of radiation-blasted sand and towering metal ruins that are all but uninhabitable. Radiation storms, acid rain, and roaming clouds of toxic gas are just a few of the hazards any prospective settlers would have to endure.
Enter the Krytchet: A hunched, diminutive race of chimeric humanoids that seem at home in the hostile environment. Making their homes out of the twisted metal hulks jutting from the sand, they are one of the only manufacturers and exporters of Krytch vapor, a highly-addictive substance that some mages use to enhance their spellcasting. Only a portion of the vapor makes it out of the Southern Wastes, however, with the majority being used by the Krytchet themselves.
