As I expected, the crunchy snow gave me away. Since I was still a long way off, the deer just walked away. In this case, down one bank and up the other. I had more pictures of this one and another, but they kept stopping with their heads on the other side of trees. I didn't think anyone would be interested in a bunch of deer rump. Taken with my Dad's camera because it has a lot better zoom.
