The Anthrocon 2010 Transformation Jam flyer
I'll be leaving these in strategic locations around the convention, with info re day & time the jam will be taking place (in the Zoo in all likelihood) added in of course. Watch this space - or my Journal above - for that information as soon as it's nailed down. I'm planning to do quickie/cheap TF sketches for interested folks because I NEED MONEY; probably other artists will be doing the same
If you're a TF artist or a TF fan come and take part/hang out; there might even be pizza! (if you're willing to kick in a buck or three...)
FYI You can check out the COMPLETED version of the flyer next door at

Nope - the griffin TF is from a Silver Age comic book - "Rip Hunter, Time Master" (or is it "Rip Master, Time Hunter"?) Read it as a kid, never thought I'd see it again... then there it was, in the window of a Toronto comics shop. (And with the exchange rate at the time, it was a bargain too.)
The donkey in the middle on the left is from a Narnia book; I believe it was 'The Horse and His Boy." (Guy's name is 'Rabadash'.) Hey, four donkeys on the leaflet - jackasses rule!

Somebody asked the director David Fincher (Fight Club, Zodiac, etc) why there were so few sex scenes in his movies. His answer was something like, "Because there's no way you can film just a guy's butt going up and down and make it look interesting."
Maybe the same is true for writing as well.

Cool. I dig the flyer. Let's go with Saturday night starting at about 6pm. We're too close to AnthroCon to change the standard from years past. I should be there for most of it, but I'm darned well not missing Uncle Kage's Story Hour, and you know how the line for that is!
Something big and colorful? Oh God, if that was ever a set-up for a punch line, nothing is...
Too bad I can't think of one. Someone suggested a helium balloon - I wonder if there's a gift/card shop where you can get one of those in downtown Pittsburgh on a summer Saturday afternoon...

You are close... it's from 'Baldo,' a 'Zits' knock-off only with Latinos. Beginning panels show Baldo TFing into a bird, a bit at a time, then flying off & leaving his nest. Final panel is screech back to reality time, with his father turning down his request for a car of his own. I'll be glad to send it to ya...
You'd better show up buddy!

they ran this constantly on TV when I was a kid; probably one of the main reasons I'm here doing all this art...

I noticed that too. Not trying to advocate in favor of donkeys, only that some of the best art in my "TF's in Mainstream Entertainment" folder were of donkey TF's.
There are also 3 "looking in the mirror in disbelief" TF's, 2 winged TFs and 2 "happily TF'd/TF'ing" pictures... all random my friends, all randomly chosen...
