"Ball! Ball! Dot is ball! Like Daddy!"

Oh Dot...

When you're the son of a Softie and are born one yourself, you inevitably get yourself into squishy situations. It looks like for Dot, that day has come! Whether or not he was playing around in machines he shouldn't have, or if he was helped into this shape, he does it to be like the one who raises him!

Dot really is a great little guy to draw, his shape and design is super simple and easy that you can really do anything with him. As such, coloring this took only a couple hours. He's perfect for getting that coloring session in that I want to do around my work schedule.

This was also the first time I've included a form of a setting in a drawing, thanks to this flat patch of grass that Dot's resting on, along with shading and lighting! It was pretty quickly done using a semi-transparent black and white curve, and a blurring effect. It could've been better, but for something as basic as a ball, I think it looks nice!

On a side note, it's funny how squishing Dot's "hair" down and the rest of him being more oval and simple shapes and putting him into a ball shape brings on Kirby Canvas/Rainbow Curse vibes.
