Cinder Star returns home before her stepmother and stepsisters arrive, and starts housework. When they return, they do not want to see her next to them, because they are unhappy with the outcome of the ball and tell her to get out. However, despite the rudeness, Cinder Star does not take offense at them and with a dreamy look goes to the attic, because today was perhaps the best day in her life.
