Well I wanted her to be a panther (cause they're mysterious and secretive) and I wanted the fursona to have white tattoo markings a bit like Melusine in Concession, which only really look good with black.

I have a gleefully sadistic kitsune who's a sandy-tan color, a psychopathic tiger-kind that red (black stripes don't count, they're normal on a tiger), and an off-white/cream Bermecian (rat) sky pirate. So, there are those evil that aren't black, but you are right, there does tend to be that leaning of 'blackness = evil' in most artistic styles.
