Contrary to common belief, Xeno's belly is not always full of food. In cycles, Xeno-drakes will become broody and need to find hosts for new broods! If they don't they end up like this! Not that I mind, feeling the brood kick and wriggle now they've hatched it always so wonderful! Of course, if someone did knock me up like this, they better run when I can fly again! My brood's so big and heavy, feels just about to pop and I'm stuck on my back!

Hehe, it's mostly just taking the way we think of biology and reproduction and throwing it out the window. Just because we know how the majority of organisms reproduce on earth, doesn't mean it's the only hypothetical way! There are even examples on earth itself!
Xeno eggs don't have shells for one, that's why they have to be laid inside. They are also not fertilized in the traditional way, passively taking genetic information from a host as a pose to being the meeting of two reproductive cells. The Xeno that does the impregnating, meares deposits fertilizes eggs, who grow and passively take more genetic material form the host. As for the hatching inside it's called Ovoviviparous, animals like sharks do it.
