Ligir Bloodpaw, Shaman of the Snowfang Clan
"Nerek's betrayal was heinous among even the most cruelest actions in Norrath's history. May his end be painful, and may his soul forever rot far away from the sanctity of Brell's Rest." -Ligir, when Jardakk asked about Nerek's betrayal.
Ligir Bloodpaw always has been and still is a heavily-respect figure of the Snowfang Clan, a group of gnolls that lives far from most civilizations within the icy continent of Velious. As a spiritual guide and leader of his people, Ligir took his role seriously as a shaman, as the spirits don't pick just any mere individual to carry out their will. Magic relating of the arcane and elemental planes of existence, however, are generally viewed upon with apprehension in gnollish society, as such magic is destructive and chaotic in the wrong hands. For years, Ligir always kept a close eye on Nerek, not at all trustful of the fiery magic at Nerek's fingertips. As time passed, Ligir saw only a power-driven desire to improve in Nerek, and such things only concerned Ligir even more and more. Despite his mistrust, Ligir still viewed Nerek as a fellow clan member and by extension, family, and Ligir was too pensive to take any immediate action. On the day that the Direwind emissary visited Ligir's village, disaster struck. Nerek was the only one to give into the promise of power, and Ligir was forced to watch as Nerek changed into a willing servant of the plague god, Bertoxxulous, and burn the entire village into a crisp. Ligir did what he could to stop Nerek, but it was to no avail, as Nerek's improved fire was too much for Ligir. Nerek spared Ligir from death, only so that Ligir could spread word to the rest of the clan's villages that they would have a similar fate if they themselves did not submit. Since that day, Ligir wonders if such a disaster could've been averted if he took action sooner, and he prepares his kin for the inevitable and highly potential visit that Nerek will make again.
Another EQ 1 gnoll character of mine. Really love the color scheme I used for him too. After modeling a recent string of Skaven characters, I again got burnt out and need a bit of time to 'recover', so to speak. I'll still of course post the Skaven ones I already have made up eventually, so worry not! Leave a fav and a watch if you enjoyed! More on the horizon.
