Clerics can use swords if they're trained in martial weapons. In 5e, there's plenty of domains that give access to martial weapons, and even in Pathfinder, there are certain deities who have a martial weapon as their favored weapon.

Hello there! First of all you´re very right, Shamerli drew a side of a gnoll that shows that they can differ if they want to!

And, In general you´re also quite right about the weapon and armour, but my inner Nerd demands to clarify it so here we go!
He is a DnD 5th edition Cleric with the War domain. They get Heavy Armor and Martial Weapon as a bonus profiency! Hence, his longsword and the full plate set of armour that I use ingame as well during my pen and paper sessions!

I read this before in other posts on twitter, so I thought maybe it´s time to clear that puzzle up here! x3

I'm a known appreciator of war domain gnoll clerics, and yours is similarly easy to like! Great character concept!

I really admire the detail you've given to his handsome build and armour. His fur is beautifully textured and his expression is very devious. His armour is magnificently shiny and is thoughtfully fitted/designed around his body, especially the straps around the😍⭐⭐⭐⭐👍
