Hey everyone!^^
I have a new traditional that I can show to you, yet again featuring one of my absolute favourite characters of all time when it comes to my childhood up until now: Spyro the Dragon and his little Pal, Sparx the Dragonfly!^^
I always loved the design of Spyro, his personality and the games I played of him (sadly not all of the existing ones, but a few at least), I dunno, I always kinda felt attached to this little Dragon and with the new graphics of The Reignited Trilogy, inspiration hit me to draw him with Copic Markers, as well.
There was one major challenge to face when working on him: The colour purple. Hear me out, Purple is a beautiful colour and belongs to my favourites, but it's hard to work with both digitally and traditionally, regarding blending, hue/shades of purple etc.
Often the brighter areas aren't real purple anymore but rather turn into violett and pink while darker areas automatically tend to become shades of blue. I had the problem with digital images before and same with this traditional piece using brushmarkers. However, I think despite some challenges during the blending process, I managed quite well.
And yes, I love my white pen! XD It makes things so much more lit (badumm tzzzzz) and crisp, making the character stand out.
What do you think? Which is your favourite Spyro game? Looking forward to your feedback and hoping you like the outcome of this^^
