I can't practice until I have a VR rig myself, and that would require getting a VR system plus a computer that could run it. My current computer is a quad core i5 with 32GB of memory running Linux that I built in 2012, but it only has motherboard video. I'd like to get the Valve Index, but I don't have a spare thousand dollars laying around!
There is a steep learning curve, true. I'm always having to ask my friend for advice, who set me up with it years ago. I can never remember the console command line stuff, but as long as my gui keeps working right (OpenSuse) I can get along with it alright.
