What a ride this image was. Originally I wanted to make it in February 2014, yet somehow I didn't pass through the sketching phase. I re-made the sketch twice before I put this picture aside.
As this one was inspired by a song I kept listening to (Ucieknijmy Stąd by Sylwia Grzeszczak) and a photo I took while on my way to school, I really wanted to make this image at some point, but years passed and I did not.
In meantime, I changed my fursona and thought this can never be done then, but I kept feeling I need to finish it.
One day I made this sky drawing, also inspired by the song as the instrument really makes me feel the cold vibes at the end of the song if you listen carefully. So as the sky was ready, it was the time to add the lower part.
I re-sketched the lower part many, many times, but I coulnd't be satisfied with any of the attempts. The pose I had in my head, the one you can see on the image, was just far beyond my skills and I decided to try a different one, put character further in the image, but it just didn't work. This image waited for so long, I couldn't just rush it. It had to be perfect.
But finally, today, I decided I just want this image done. I can't wait next few years to get good at drawing, I just needed it done. I took a photo of myself and had to re-arrange it so my skin would match the fur. Why do I mention it? Because all the people I've sent it to before uploading said my fursona looks fat. Well, it means I'm a fat racc irl then xDDD
Anyway, I'm still not satisfied. It does not even look similar to what I had in mind at the first attempt, it looks nothing like the photo I took in 2014... But it repsresents something: How this image is just holding me, getting into me and doesn't want to let me go. Just like that ivy.
