Normally  tesral commissions me to do Red Shetland in historical garb, after I just finished a Swedish piece for him. But while I was finishing up that piece, I thought about his original request for a Wellington Napoleon wars Scottish soldier. But after losing much of my Osprey Men at Arms books in the spring flooding, I lacked references. Then I thought of the famous Colonial American commander Robert Rogers of the French/English 7 years war (1754-1763). Rogers literally was the First Commando, his unit dressed in forest green uniforms unlike the regular colonial troops in vivid red and the French light blue. Plus they mastered with the tomahawk, mainly fighting against Indian allies on the French side.

So I feature Red as one of those early Rangers. She would effectively use that tomahawk and the fighting scalping knife they carried too.
