This is the 1st drawing I started during my most recent Picarto stream. It was a request for an anthro Applebloom as a steam punk engineer. Now I decided to make AB a locomotive engineer for this piece, and since it's a common motif in steam punk to have character prosthetic limbs so I gave her a couple of them.

Don't know in this case since I went from. "What do people want me to draw." To "Okay lets get this started!" in about 2 minutes. So when I'm drawing like this it's very stream of conscious or at best Petina frantically throwing image files in my head to look at.
I think my subconscious latched onto the idea that everyone in these steampunk settings is missing a limb or two.

If early Equestrian railways are anything like early American railways, accidental would be most likely. Case in point, when asking for volunteers for runs requiring experienced brakemen, foremen would pick the ones missing fingers (coupling and uncoupling cars in those days it was easy to get a finger or two crushed if you were even an instant slow.)
