I used this belt to keep my tail on because i could adjust it to exactly where i needed it since it has so many metal loops... painful metal loops. hehe. Imma go with a leather one next time.

Unless you have something like a skunk tail, there should be no reason the belt needs to be that tight. But yes, I'd recommend a leather belt over what you've got there. You may also want to consider a dive skin, they're fairly cheap, and it would help keep your sweat off of your suit.
