The evil-we're-told scheme being revealed in a panel here from the 1952 American Comics Group horror comic Skeleton Hand #2, ``The Were-Serpent of Karnak''. CW for the story: it's a 1952 comic book story about a couple white reporters poking their way into a Magical Mysterious Ancient Egyptian Mysterious Magic Cult of Magical Mystery, so there's a bunch of racist stuff all over it, including blackface.
This sketch is more nearly a trace than usual. I couldn't work out the anatomy of the priestess, so I used that as a nearly-transparent layer to get the basic shapes. It taught me among other things I was making the human torso way too wide, which is an interesting problem to have.
