exhausted and frozen, the companions continued to climb the snowy mountain, hoping to soon reach the inn.
the thought of a warm hearth and dry blankets gave strength and motivation.
"We'll have a little rest, and there it is not far to the top, we will manage" - they encouraged each other,
sinking deeper and deeper into the loose snow with every step.
climbing the next ledge, they thought they had lost their way: after all,
the sounds of lutes and the hoarse voices of the same adventurers should already be heard.
but only a blizzard met them with an icy howl in silence.
the inn was no longer there.
