Kou was alone, her mate had left for the night to go hunting, and she stood strong upon her rock. Her hazel eyes looking up at the moon, and all of the stars, the sky was beautiful shades of blue and purple and she felt it coming, a howl. She felt it deep within her being, she was ready to declare that she was here once more. That she was the Alphess of these lands, and that no matter what she would rule with strength and dignity. No one would ever come against her. Her onyx maw pulled back and she stamped her foot on the rock below her. Her jowls parted, and her eyes closed, and a howl that shook the lands reverberated from her vocal chords. It was beautiful, it was powerful and it sent a clear message that... THIS IS ME and that SHE was not going anywhere. Kou held her head upright, knowing that her mate had heard her howl of strength and power. Kou was back bitches, and no one was going to steal her joy.

Artist's Notes:
This picture took two days, only because I was sitting here and knew I needed to wait and look at it with fresh eyes, the background is probably my favorite part of this, as I have never done a more beautiful sky than that, and it just is stunning. I love the moon as well as I have been experimenting again with different brushes and feel like I am getting better at backgrounds. My rocks are still a bit rough but I'm getting there :)
I feel like this picture says so much. I feel like I am marking my place on this earth, and that I am not going anywhere. I'm back, and I feel amazing about it. I feel the healing happening as every day passes and nothing is going to stop me from moving forward.
I have moments still which are rough and I do still have PTSD reactions to things and thats normal but I feel like mentally I am feeling wonderful, and just happier than I've ever been in a while. Its amazing.
So yeah, here is Kou howling, stating her place, stating that THIS IS ME DEAL WITH IT.
And its true, this is me, deal with it because I have grown, I have matured, and I have made changes to be a better person because I realized that I couldnt stand who I was, and if you cant handle it then fuck off. End of story. ~
Also, I have really been enjoying drawing now that I've got the hang of it :) WOOP.
