This is -really- something different, I think.
The second I decided that I would eventally make it to Burning Man, I envisioned going out there dressed as a vulture. The drawing in the upper left of this collage is among the first concepts I drew for my costume; I knew exactly how I wanted to make it, but drawing it was what helped me get a better grip on the process I'd use.
In the upper right is a picture of the head in-progress, before adding the lighter paint on top. The center frame is me in the finished costume at Burning Man, and the bottom two are me at Further Confusion 2005 in January. (If you were at FC and wondering who "that BIRD" was, why, that was me. :D)

Wow! Very awesome! The concept sketch was cool and most people find it a hard transition between the sketch and the realization. But (I assume you did all the work yourself?) since it was your idea in the first place and you had everything in your head, I think it really helped bring this design to a sucessful fruition. And birds are so rare! I hope to get to see it in person. I don't know how I missed you at FC!
