I've been focusing the past few days on what I'd say are some too-difficult-for-me pieces that are all half way complete. The more difficult poses (full body) and my unrefined workflow just made things a little too complicated.

Because of that, I thought I'd try starting simple. I wanted to create ref-esque set of drawings that could help me with faces, talons, arms, legs, chests, etc etc form sketches. Then I could also work through the process of going from sketches, to shading, to color and finishing touches. I think things are looking a little better! though I want to work on the cleanliness of the sketches. I sort of feel like he rolled around in some mud or ash. Additionally, emphasizing correct volume would be next on my list.
