It had the dry ditch in front of each base and a single concrete walkway right between the two-story bases with two tower things on either side. I can't remember well enough to describe it better. It was a capture the flag map, iirc.
The other team set up a sentry gun behind one of the towers for anybody the snipers didn't pick off as soon as they left their base. :V
I can't recall if you were playing that one or not, nor what team you were on.

While ambushing people from around corners works, I've found I end up killing more people by standing in an open area and spraying bullets and listening for the "Ding!". I've even managed to get a handle on snipers most of the time unless they get me as soon as I round a corner. It's the damn spies now. >:C
I can't remember the last time I was killed by something other than a sniper or a cloaked spy. Occasionally Demoman and Pyros, too I guess.
I did go camping in the intelligence room once, but unfortunately the engineer didn't put up a dispenser in the room, luckily the respawn area was right down the hall otherwise I'd have run out of ammo a lot. After Six minutes that got boring since the other team had discovered going through the vents was a bad idea with a heavy in the room so I rushed out into the hall and was blown up by a grenade. :V

Oh yeah, Heavys can take a few rockets to the face, but Demomen are a constant problem especially if the person has actually learned how to aim the bloody launcher, or is stickin' stickies everywhere, Pyros, blah, don't let those buggers get near you, they use the same ambushing tactics, keep that gun spinning, and remember to listen for Spies uncloaking, every 7 seconds at least, you have to rotate and make sure there isn't an extra medic following you.
Remember heavys are a defense class too, if your opponents know how to play, they'll be watching the open, your the "room-clearing" heavy, not the "meadow-skipping" heavy, that's for scouts and soldiers, unless your packing some sandvich or the new chocolate bar, of course this is only from my experiences, hell, you might make a living standing in the middle rotating slowly with your gun firing like the heavy from the trailer.
Also, YELL at those engineers! They are not credit to team!

Sticky bombs aren't terrible, you can remove them with the shotgun if you REALLY need to get past them.
And I already know not to run out into open areas unless I know I can take a few people with me. When I'm in the open it's mostly on a checkpoint. I actually enjoyed "Heavy-sniping" from the battlements on the Double Cross map and one or two others. The snipers I was camping with picked off fast targets like scouts, or ones that were way out of range for me, and I took out pretty much everything else and acted as meatshield for any rockets or bullets that came our way (luckily the respawn was literally on the other side of the room).
