Tom tries out a new tabletop RPG with some fun character creation rules.
Wanted to write a simple transformation story for a change! Reminds me of an idea I had where RPGs evolved not from wargaming but from economic sims or the logistic sims of WWII, with combat as a secondary system.
This is part 2 of 2 of a sort of calibration, due to being unable to write humor for far too long. By the way, I wrote several furry novels in 2020 including "The Dream Of Aveire" and "Virtual Horizon". If you feel interested in nominating them for an award, see here: https://coyotlawards.com/2020-reading-list/ . It would amuse me to see the reaction.

Bascially! In the recent "Freelance Minion" the hero meets teenagers Elly and Lisette who get bored at one point and wander off to play in some fantasy campaign about a water mage. "Aveire" is one possible distant future of Thousand Tales (which might be the same one as "Fateweaver's Quest"); so is "Tower of Sol". Alma ("2040: Reconnection") gets involved with a club/cult of squirrel people praying to the "Lord of the Forest". Stan Cooper's friend Dominic is a masked mage who respecs to paladin. The Crown & Tail Pub in Endless Isles is from an otter TGTF story, and so on. Ooh, there isn't yet a tie-in to "Night Shift Laundry"...
