She was a great GSD imported from germany; schutzhund registered and trained. Amazing disposition, personality, and none of that American-fuck-up-your-dog look. She was strong, both in mind and body, and very capable.
But her ancestors were a long line of drug- and bomb-sniffing dogs. You can't tell me those chemicals don't get passed down the generations. A year or two after surviving stage-three bloat, she died of cancer in the gut (everywhere, from the stomach to the liver) at the age of 10 years old.
She was the best dog I've ever had. And since, the German Shepherd has remained my favorite breed of all time.
Sure, I miss her, but she taught me alot, so I have no regrets. You shouldn't be sorry at all :)
