she could.. but some of the families and friends are *RICH and INFLUENTIAL*.. they'll "demand" that someone pay for the loss.. and with the one who sent the squad already dead, they'll be screaming for someone else to "pay for it".. and they'd still see Herman Orca as the perfect fall guy..
Those with narrow visions and minds refuse to open them up until something so massively huge happens to FORCE them to look beyond that tunnel vision.. sadly, those big things don't happen enough to make those with dim views see better...

I don't think 'death' is a good solution neither. After all the biggest reason she wanted to stop General Dumbass from killing Orca is that she know his death would cause a massive uprising, and probably a bloody civil war;

I'd bet more on a neutral solution, something like a 'voluntary exile': he stays alway enough these influential people don't ask for his head on a silver platter, but still alive and in contact with his supporters to avoid a uprising for his death/disappearance.

The thing is she is using cold hard logic, and the guys that were responsible set it up. She has a mess to clean up and herman has to go with it

Wouldn't the "strong leader" political solution be to hang the general out to dry in public? The general was already arrested if I'm not wrong. Televise the trial, and make sure that anyone angry over the dead soldiers were angry at the general for issuing an order he had no right to give.

Seems that arresting the wealthy, powerful people that demand "do something" might help, after they do something rash. Making a public scapegoat out of the old general would seem to be manditory. He IS guilty after all.

would not surprise me if they agree to tell everyone that while the squad was hunting him, herman faked his death and the general killed his own men and planned to frame orca for that as well so that none of it could be traced back to him. The irony would be they would solving the problem by framing the general who made the whole mess by framing herman
