Sometimes, all it takes is a little bit of a taste. A little glimmer of hope, of what could be. A visit to a paradise, somewhere worth staying.

Only for you to be kicked out again when the visit ends as quickly as it started. For while it felt like home, you were only ever a guest there. And now you are out in the darkness yet again.

No, you have to earn your place there, and the only way for that is through the outside darkness. For only those that carry the shining keys to the heavens can get through the gates as anything more than a guest. And you will have to fight just to find it. So hold onto it, for its brilliant light will illuminate the path towards the heavens.

However, be wary, for the light from the key will attract the unwanted attention of Luxuria, who cannot resist it and will hunt you down for it. So be on your guard and ever vigilant! For should you lose it in your fights with that beast, then you will not be able to find it ever again... and you will be his to devour...

Therefore, for the sake of consistency, I still went on to draw this and post it up despite it being a whole month since new years.

Not my proudest art piece, but it works.


Also, note to self: Focus on writing these descriptions over finishing the drawings before new years, while the reflections over the year are still fresh on your mind.
