Backgrounds really are a weakness of mine, and honestly not something I enjoy doing all that much anymore, as both I and my audience seem far more interested in characters than environments most of the time... but here's the first glimpse of the Space Hamster Gerbil Duprasi homeworld, a Mars-like planet.

It is tempting to form a biker gang of pudgy space hamster/gerbil critters... it would be a good excuse to design some more vehicles, at least! Whatever they drive would have to work well both on the surface and in underground tunnels and caves, and be able to handle bumpy, rocky, hilly and mountainous terrain... maybe I should look at NASA's Mars rovers and see if those designs could be the basis for some sort of vehicle for these guys.
